The Housewives' Guide
We are a family of four making our way through this world, doing our best to live healthy, happy lives while trying not to raise tiny assholes.
Andy and I met at UC Santa Barbara in the fall of 1994. We started out as best friends and stayed that way until the spring of 1998, when the magic finally kicked in. As one of our friends once said, "I never imagined them together, but now that they are, I can't imagine them apart." Neither can we. We've been together ever since.
After more than seven years of dating—and adventures that took us from Santa Barbara to San Diego, then to Hawaii, and back to San Diego—we finally got married.
Our oldest son, Jack, was born in the winter of 2009, followed just 18 months later by his little brother, Henry, in the summer of 2011. They keep us humble, laughing, and constantly on our toes.
Today, we live, work, and raise our family in Carlsbad, California.
Professionally, I work in residential real estate development, helping transform raw land into thoughtfully planned communities. Andy was one of the early team members at Cutwater Spirits and has spent his career helping build one of San Diego's most recognized craft spirit brands.
Nanea Building Company grew out of our shared belief that great communities—and great businesses—are built on relationships, integrity, hard work, and a willingness to solve difficult problems. Whether we're evaluating land, working through an entitlement challenge, or cheering for our kids, we try to approach life with curiosity, humor, and gratitude.
Middle age has me thinking, what drives me? What gets me out of bed in the morning? I feel like I have a lot to look forward to, I feel the pressure of the challenges and that is what I am here to share. As I take a closer look at the second half of life, stop to smell the roses (and slow the chest pains), and raise teenagers; that's what I am here to share.
And...I am not a housewife. I am a working mom of 2 boys, a wife, a girlfriend, a bon vivant. I hope you enjoy!
