I Tried to Ask ChatGPT to Help Me Look Cool and Youthful
Updated: Aug 31

What I got was matronly…
In a rut, not feeling great, trying to learn AI, so I asked ChatGPT.
I just turned 50 and I want to look and feel younger any recommendations?
What I got back was a sensible shoes and bag look. It was solid advice — for someone who wants to quietly fade into the background.
I don't want to fade. I want to actually figure this out — is there a magic potion? what treatments are worth the money, what to wear that suits me on a budget, what habits give me energy? I've spent three years and a small fortune into trying to answer that question.
I turned 50 this summer, and I feel like I'm in a constant battle trying to figure out how to feel better, look younger—but still look like myself.
I spend an absolute fortune on pellets, peptides, creams, Botox, filler—all the things.
And the frustrating part is that I haven't truly felt good in a long time.
I feel like I'm constantly searching for the right cocktail that will help me look and feel my best without turning it into a second job—or spending a small fortune every year.
When I Finally Started Feeling Good
About three years ago, I started hormone pellets, and I LOVED the results.
They were almost immediate.
I was finally sleeping through the night. I had a libido again. I had energy. I genuinely felt younger.
Around the same time, I was doing extensive treatments on my face—lasers, filler, gold needles, Botox. For a while, I really felt like I was on the road to looking and feeling great.
There was just one problem.
It was costing me $10,000+ a year to maintain all of it.
At some point, I started thinking, this is insane.
Then I Added a GLP-1
Around that same time, I started taking a GLP-1 because I wanted to lose some weight.
I thought losing weight would be another piece of the puzzle.
Instead, it seemed to offset almost everything good I had been feeling.
I felt like I was seven months pregnant all the time.
I was bloated. I was uncomfortable. And I was so tired that I would come home and take a nap.
Instead of feeling younger and healthier, I felt exhausted.
Since then I have been trying to get back to the beginning.
And then I turned 50.
I'm trying to figure out what actually works, what's worth the money and what I can eliminate. I want to look like myself but the best version of myself.
Maybe a slightly less tired, better-rested, smoother-skinned version of myself—but still me. I'm also trying to find myself.
Who am I in this next chapter?
What does 50 look like for me?
What makes me feel confident?
What really turns my wheel?
Maybe That's the Real Experiment
I want to figure out the treatments that are actually worth the money.
The things that genuinely make me feel better.
The clothes that make me feel cool instead of matronly.
The habits that give me energy.
And maybe even which of the expensive little syringes, creams and miracle treatments I can finally stop buying.
I don't want to spend the next decade trying to be 40.
I want to figure out how to be really fucking good at 50.
